The social robot Haru of the Embodied Communication team led by Randy Gomez, Senior Scientist, is featured in the IEEE Spectrum magazine (link below). Haru is a social robot that facilitates the study of social presence and empathetic engagement for long-term interaction. This invited contribution showcases the exciting research activities being undertaken by the Embodied Communication team at HRI-JP, and gives a glimpse into the future of social robotics in a hybrid human-robot society.
